Where it all started
Sweet Dream Sleep
In 2018, I was blessed with a beautiful baby girl who is extremely strong willed. When she was 6 months old and waking hourly throughout the night and taking 30 to 45 minute long naps, I felt extremely sleep deprived. More importantly, I was at a loss as to how to help her get the rest she needed. It was at this stage that we enlisted the assistance of a qualified paediatric sleep consultant. The transformation in my daughter’s sleep within a short period of time was unbelievable, resulting in better quality sleep for her, and in turn, for us too. After this experience, I became passionate about good sleep practices and sought to continue my education by achieving a Distinction in the Sleep Practitioner Programme (OCN Level 5) from the London School of Childcare Studies. I am proud to be able to provide families with any guidance, assistance and expert advice they may seek in order to enable their children to gain a more restful sleep.
My Philosophy
There is a common misconception that your child should demonstrate certain traits when sleeping, be it sleeping solidly for twelve hours, or sleeping and waking at certain designated times. The truth is, that no child is the same and thus a one size fits all approach is not the solution. I work with your family to understand your needs, goals, and lifestyle. I take into account your child’s temperament and your parenting style to create a bespoke sleep plan which will enable your child to learn and adapt to good sleep practices.
This in turn means a more peaceful sleep for your whole family giving everyone at home the ability to start their day feeling happy, rejuvenated, and in a better mood. There are countless benefits to good quality sleep for adults and children alike, and it is a well-known fact that sleep is a vital building block for our mental and physical wellbeing.
You may be surprised to hear, but a lot of the parents I have worked with list one of their primary goals as being able to sleep for an extended period undisturbed. I explain that this desire is neither bad nor is it a fantasy. It is often forgotten that good sleep practice is a learnt skill. Using an evidence based approach, we can teach your child good sleep practices, which in turn results in a good night’s sleep, thereby blessing your whole family with Sweet Dreams.
